Believing He Could Get a Woman Pregnant, Man Loses $4,000 in Scam
I think scammers have started reading hentai manga and thought, “This should work in real life.” And somehow, it actually worked. A man ended up losing around $4,000 after a woman claimed she needed a healthy man to help her get pregnant.
A man in his 30s from Izunokuni, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, met a woman through social media in late June 2026. During their conversations, she claimed she needed help from a healthy person to become pregnant and promised to pay him a total reward of 30 million yen, around $200,000.
Believing the offer, the man made several payments until early July. The payments were supposedly required as deposits or guarantees so he could receive the promised reward.
In total, he transferred approximately 740,000 yen to bank accounts provided by the woman.
Guess what happened after the guy made all those payments? Yep, the woman simply disappeared. Unable to contact her, he went to the police on July 10 and reported what had happened.
Police said this was a scam involving a promise of a huge reward while simultaneously demanding payments to “unlock” the money. The man was warned that if a stranger online asks you to send money before giving you something supposedly valuable, it is a classic scam.
Honestly, I think this guy read a hentai manga and believed the story…
