The Yan-senpai Can’t Live Alone manga will officially end later this month after the author stated that they had lost trust in their relationship with the publisher. Yan-senpai Can’t Live Alone manga will end after loss of trust

The serialization will end with Chapter 15, scheduled for release on August 13. In the announcement, the author apologized to readers, especially for sharing the news just days before the release of the third collected volume.

The manga began serialization in December 2024 and currently has two collected volumes available.

What is Yan-senpai Can’t Live Alone about?

The story follows Yuu, a hardworking and highly capable college student. Despite her many strengths, she is often seen by men as someone who is “cold” or lacking what they consider “feminine softness,” leading her to question whether she needs to change herself.

Everything changes when she meets Yang-senpai, a popular, kind, and seemingly perfect Chinese international student. However, Yuu soon discovers an unexpected side of him, leading to a romantic comedy in which the two form an unusual partnership.

Author wants to reclaim the manga’s rights

In addition to confirming the end of the serialization, sooncha revealed that they are negotiating with the editorial department to reclaim the manga’s rights.

According to the author, the goal is to continue the story in another format or through another platform in the future. They also stated that they are determined to finish the story for fans and asked for patience while negotiations continue.

Third volume will be released as planned

Despite the announcement, the third volume of Yan-senpai Can’t Live Alone, scheduled for August 6, will be released as planned.

The author explained that both the physical and digital editions had already entered the distribution process and could no longer be stopped. They also commented that readers who no longer wish to purchase the volume should cancel their own pre-orders, once again apologizing for the situation.

Similar cases are becoming more common in the industry

This comes just weeks after another manga was also discontinued due to problems between its author and publisher. In recent months, disputes involving broken trust, canceled serializations, and attempts by creators to reclaim the rights to their works have become increasingly common in the manga industry.
