I have ALWAYS, ALWAYS wanted to play one of those games where you raise a daughter. If you don’t know which games I’m talking about, I mean games like Volcano Princess and Princess Maker, where you take care of a little girl until she grows up.

And these games have multiple endings because, depending on how you raise the girl, she can even end up becoming a villain. As I said, I’ve never actually played one of these games, even though I REALLY want to, but I ended up getting Lair Land Story, which is similar, but not exactly the same thing.

Decide the Fate of an Amnesiac Girl in Lair Land Story

Lair Land Story is a simulation and adventure game where you take on the role of Herol, a man who finds Chilia, a mysterious magical girl who saved a city devastated by war. The problem is that she has completely lost her memory and doesn’t remember her powers or her past.

After finding her, Herol decides to take care of Chilia and help her over the next four years. Your choices will influence her personality, abilities, and even her future, which is similar to the games I mentioned earlier.

Take Care of Chilia and Decide Her Future

In Lair Land Story, you are responsible for planning Chilia’s daily routine. You can choose which activities she will do, which classes she will attend, and how she will develop over the years.

Every decision can affect her traits and opinions. You also need to balance her activities so she doesn’t become too tired or bored, which can hurt her performance.

For example, you can have Chilia study arts, combat, etiquette, pray, or even help rebuild the city. Depending on the task you give her, she can become tired or bored.

You can also change her clothes and hairstyle. There are shops that sell different outfits, and you can change her appearance or take her to the salon for a new look.

For example, I made her study philosophy and the damn girl fell asleep.

Chilia has no memories of her previous life, including the origin of her powers. As the story progresses, you can discover more about her past and learn why the Goddess granted her these blessings.

While taking care of Chilia, Herol can also pursue his own happiness. The game allows you to meet different characters and develop relationships, and you can even fall in love with people who initially seemed like nothing more than friends or enemies.

And this is where things get interesting: the game has multiple endings, obviously depending on what you do, but if I understood it correctly, you can actually marry Chilia!

Although the war has ended, Lair Land still needs to recover from its consequences. Herol can help the inhabitants rebuild the city and its important landmarks.

One thing I really liked about the game is how important the seasons are. The story starts in summer, then autumn arrives and the entire map changes. It’s really cool to see the kingdom change with each season.

But I have to say that the controls in Lair Land Story feel a little clunky. It’s the kind of thing where you press a button and there’s a delay before things move in the menu.

Lair Land Story isn’t exactly the game I wanted to play, where you raise your own daughter. Here, you’re helping an amnesiac girl and can apparently marry her, but it’s still fun.
