Woman Opens Up About Husband Addicted to MapleStory

A woman opened up about her husband addicted to MapleStory, saying the game is starting to directly affect their marriage and even their plans to have children.

According to her story, she met her husband because of the game. At the time, she started playing after hearing that many single men with good financial situations were part of the MapleStory community.

The two became close through offline gatherings organized by players and eventually decided to get married.

The problem came afterward.

The Game Started Taking Up Much of His Routine

The woman says she initially played the game as well, but eventually quit because she wanted to devote more attention to married life.

Her husband, however, continued playing every day and even started asking her to complete his daily tasks in the game.

He reportedly said that he usually handles daily tasks for 10 characters, so taking care of just one character shouldn’t be difficult for her.

The situation also drew attention because of his spending. Despite being someone who saves money in everyday life, her husband apparently behaves very differently when it comes to MapleStory.

According to the woman, he talks about spending ¥200,000 during special events, ¥100,000 to prepare for New Year’s, and another ¥20,000 whenever new cosmetic items are released.

Even Their Trips Are Planned Around MapleStory

Things became even more unusual when the couple started discussing vacations. The husband is willing to take one-night, two-day trips, but absolutely refuses to stay away for two nights.

The reason? He needs to keep completing his daily tasks in the game.

According to him, on a short trip he can still complete the missions before leaving and after returning. A two-night trip, however, would mean missing an entire day of activities.

The wife also says she has asked him when he finally plans to quit the game.

She reportedly received an answer along the lines of: “I’ve come this far, so I’ll play until I die.”

He also reportedly joked that he plans to make his own children complete the daily tasks.

She Is Now Worried About Having a Child

The situation has made the woman question whether she should actually have children with her husband.

Her biggest fear is ending up raising the child almost entirely on her own while her husband continues spending much of his time playing MapleStory.

She says she has asked him several times to reduce his gaming or quit altogether, but he has not taken her concerns seriously.

In one response, her husband reportedly said that he would rather die than quit the game and that completing the daily tasks had become a habit.

The man is reportedly in his 40s.

She said she is now considering a divorce.
