The man said on X that he paid ¥17,000 for two hours with a 32-year-old woman, plus another ¥15,000 for dinner, bringing the total to ¥32,000.
According to him, the woman didn’t try to force a romantic atmosphere, but she was a great conversationalist and very helpful. For someone who considers himself socially awkward, that made a huge difference.
She even helped him take some photos to use on dating apps. Encouraged by the experience, he said he planned to keep trying to find a partner after the Obon holiday.
It seemed like a successful date.
However, the next day, the man made another post and revealed that the experience had made him think deeply about his situation.
He remembered that many people his age had already reached major milestones in life, such as having children, while he was still learning the basics of relationships.
To him, the difference seemed enormous. The man said he didn’t feel like he was merely a little behind everyone else, but rather as if the race had already ended while he was still on the field.
