VTuber Mimi Yanagi Who Was Arrested May Actually Be a Man Named Jordan

Recently, a VTuber named Mimi Yanagi went viral after claiming she had been arrested by police in the United Kingdom because of artwork related to her character, according to her. The story quickly spread, and it likely reached over 20 million people, with many both supporting her and criticizing the UK.
Soon, many people began showing strong support for Mimi while criticizing the UK for allegedly arresting someone over drawings of youthful-looking characters in suggestive poses. However, as you might expect, there is also a group strongly opposed to this type of content, and they decided to investigate the story more deeply.
At that point, some users from a forum called Kiwifarms decided to look further into Mimi Yanagi and claimed to have discovered her real name, as well as other social media profiles, gathering older messages.

To begin with, according to these claims, Mimi Yanagi would not be a woman but a man named Jordan Williams, who, in his own words, identified as a trans individual with strong political views and interests in furry and adult anime content.
Jordan Williams reportedly described himself in the past as Christian, but over time, after engaging in political forums, his views shifted toward the left and he embraced communism. He allegedly created posts criticizing capitalism and also talked about his struggles with depression.
Jordan’s first online identity is said to have been a furry dragon character, and he was active on a site called FurAffinity, where he not only discussed politics but also created adult artwork involving his furry character named Nebula.

On Reddit, he allegedly made posts expressing dislike toward J.K. Rowling (author of Harry Potter), criticizing capitalism, and stating that he refused to get a job as a way of not supporting the system.
In profiles attributed to him, it was also claimed that Jordan/Mimi mentioned having highly controversial and disturbing preferences. Over the years, he reportedly abandoned those older accounts and became the VTuber “Mimi Yanagi.”
However, Mimi Yanagi never actually streamed. So what kind of content did Jordan engage with? According to the Kiwifarms users, Mimi Yanagi/Jordan created and commissioned suggestive artwork of his VTuber character.

On his Pixiv and Baraag profiles, he was said to follow artists and like illustrations involving themes such as:
- Loli
- Tentacles
- Urination
- Zoofilia (Horses and dogs)
- Pokémon
- Baby
Jordan allegedly paid an artist to create a short animation where his Mimi Yanagi avatar appeared in a suggestive scenario while wearing a traditional Japanese school backpack.
However, what many considered the most serious point was his alleged connection to explicit content based on the character Stephanie from the series LazyTown.

This may have contributed to the legal issues mentioned, especially considering that UK law has strict rules regarding explicit depictions involving youthful-looking characters, even in fictional contexts.
In any case, the full investigation can be found here for those who want to explore the details further.
UPDATE
People looked for more information, and according to them, the adult artworks of Stephanie would be based on the animated version of LazyTown, not the live-action one. Even so, it was said that there is still a lack of proof that Mimi Yanagi actually had those artworks.
So overall, all Mimi is confirmed to have are hentai artworks of anime characters.
