Tokyo box prank police investigation after viral street groping game

Three people have gotten into trouble with Japanese police after coming up with a curious online content idea. They are being prosecuted over a prank involving sexual harassment allegations. The situation was as follows: a woman stood with a box positioned at chest level.
People on the streets were then invited to put their hands inside the box in order to guess what was inside. The action, which at first glance looked like a performance or social media content, quickly raised suspicion due to the physical contact with strangers in public spaces and its suggestive nature, which was ultimately interpreted as obscene conduct by authorities.

According to Tokyo Metropolitan Police, the three people involved did not carry out the act just once. Authorities state that the stunt was repeated multiple times over several months in busy areas such as Shibuya and Shinjuku.
Videos posted on social media contributed to the case gaining major attention, as the content went viral and attracted millions of views, drawing the attention of Japanese authorities.
Two men in their 30s were identified. The woman was described as a 27-year-old unemployed individual, but she is actually an adult content actress known only as Chiyu (photo below).

On the streets, while she allowed people to touch her breasts inside the box, one of the men filmed the scene while the other interacted with participants as if it were a live show.
It is said that the channel reached more than 800 million views (the videos are still available on their TikTok channel). On their channel, many participants can be seen joining the game, including Japanese locals, men, women, and even foreigners.

For authorities, the most serious issue is that the videos were used to promote a subscription-based website where users paid to access more “content.” Investigations suggest the trio earned around 10 million yen in sales this way.
We will see how this develops.
