Mushoku Tensei Author Ignores Criticism and Says He Writes for Himself

With the premiere of the third season of Mushoku Tensei, new discussions involving the series have emerged again, especially among part of the international audience. Even with the criticism, the Mushoku Tensei author decided to ignore the criticism and revealed that he will continue writing the way he always has.

The person responsible for the light novel, known as Rifujin na Magonote, received a message from a fan asking him not to give up on the franchise because of negative comments coming from overseas.

The fan stated that international criticism should not stop the author from continuing to create the story and highlighted that many readers still support his work.

The Mushoku Tensei franchise has great popularity worldwide, but it also faces controversy whenever the anime returns. The main criticisms are related to the protagonist Rudeus’ behavior during his childhood and some elements present in the narrative, which some people consider “controversial.”

In addition, some story choices, such as the protagonist’s relationship that ends up involving more than one wife, have also generated debates among fans (and even among hentai artists of lolis!)

Even with these discussions, the Mushoku Tensei author said that he will ignore criticism and explained that he usually does not pay attention to comments made by haters.

In response to the fan, Rifujin na Magonote stated that he will continue writing what he wants to create, something he says he has done since the beginning of his career.

According to the author:

“Thank you. But even without needing to be told that, I generally ignore comments from haters and write the works I want to create for myself. I have always done that and I have always said that.”

The message also addressed the future of the anime adaptation. Regarding a possible fourth season, the writer explained that the decision does not depend on him, but stated that he would help as much as possible if the project were approved.

Despite the frequent criticism, Mushoku Tensei continues to gain a large fan base around the world. Recently, supporters of the series also helped recover the anime’s score on MyAnimeList after a wave of people giving negative ratings, and a controversy emerged involving people who were furious about Rudeus having two partners.

But they were fine with Tengen having 3 wives in Kimetsu no Yaiba:
