VTuber Meica05 Responds to Accusations of Abandoning Her Hispanic Audience
The VTuber Meica05, known for her Spanish-language content aimed at Latin American viewers, has found herself at the center of a controversy with her Latin American audience! Fans are accusing her of abandoning them in favor of a Japanese audience.
The situation began when some fans who were among the community’s biggest donors published a document explaining why they stopped supporting Meica. Their complaints include a decline in streaming frequency, new accounts aimed at other audiences, merchandise issues, and an alleged difference in quality between the content.
Meica later published her own explanation, denying several of the accusations and claiming that the situation eventually turned into harassment and stalking against her.
What Do the Fans Say?
According to the document made by the fans, the problems began in 2025, when Meica started producing content on other accounts. The fans say they initially supported the idea, but eventually became frustrated with periods when she would go several days without streaming as Meica.
Basically, what happened is that Meica created a completely separate persona, with a different name for her Japanese audience. So, according to the fans, it is essentially one person operating two VTubers: Meica for the Spanish-speaking audience and another one for the Japanese audience.
They also complain about the Chibithon, claiming that some of its goals took a long time to be completed and that she produced similar content for free on her other account before delivering certain rewards from the campaign.
Problems with merchandise, Japan-exclusive campaigns, and even VRChat gifts also contributed to their loss of trust.
The fans also deny that everything started because of Meica’s boyfriend. According to them, the community already knew that she was in a relationship, and that was never an issue.
Finally, they admit that one person did create alternate accounts to try to get closer to Meica, but they claim this did not represent the community as a whole and that their document was simply meant to explain why they decided to leave.
VTuber Meica Responds With a Doc
In her response, Meica says that the Chibithon goals were completed and that the money raised was used to bring her dog Chibi from Argentina to Japan, including vaccines, documentation, flights, and accommodation.
Regarding her other accounts, she explains that she wanted to use them to experiment with new content, such as ASMR and covers, as well as meet other communities. She says she never intended to abandon her Hispanic audience and that her new model was paid for with her own money, not donations.
Meica also claims that some people began investigating her personal life, following her friends and alternate accounts, and even creating multiple accounts to get closer to her, which made her feel stalked and harassed.
She also pushes back against complaints about fan art, private messages, merchandise, and her streaming schedule, saying that being a fan or making a donation does not give anyone the right to control her life or demand specific behavior from her.
In the end, Meica says that losing fans is not the problem, as she considers that a normal part of being a content creator. What concerns her is that some people continued following her and collecting information about her life to later use it against her.
In other words: the fans say they lost trust in Meica because she abandoned them in favor of her Japanese audience. Meica, on the other hand, says she lost her sense of safety within her own community.
