Atelier: 78% of Fans Approve of Karia, Engorde During the Game
Last month, Gust opened a poll asking players whether they wanted Karia, Engorde during the game or not. The idea was previously presented to fans as a possible feature for the protagonist of the new Atelier game.
The idea presented to players is to allow Karia to temporarily change her appearance and become a little “plumper” after eating a lot, something that directly ties into one of the game’s mechanics.
And apparently, fans strongly approved of the idea.
Nearly 80% of Players Said “Yes” to a Plumper Karia
The partial results of the poll, which received 34,392 responses from players around the world, show that 78.6% of participants are in favor of Karia’s body changing.
Only 9.9% were against the idea, while 11.6% did not have a clear preference.
Gust also asked whether players would like to be able to choose and permanently lock a specific body shape for the character. In this case, 62.2% voted in favor.
Meanwhile, 32.1% would rather have the protagonist’s body change automatically depending on how much food she eats.
In other words, it seems that a considerable portion of fans really want to see Karia getting bigger as she stuffs herself during the adventure.
Fans Also Chose Her Clothing Style
The poll wasn’t limited to the character’s body. Gust also presented eight different clothing concepts and asked players to choose which ones suited Karia best.
So far, Dark Girly, Gothic Lolita and Visual Kei are among the favorites, although the competition is still quite close
The developer has not explained exactly how all of the survey results will be used, but confirmed that players’ choices are expected to influence both the game itself and promotional materials.
The poll is still open until August 23, so fans who have not participated yet can still cast their votes.
When Will Atelier Karia Be Released?
Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories is scheduled to launch in early 2027. The game will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
