GTA Granny: AI Video of Japanese Elderly Woman Surpasses 700K Views

On September 9, a video imagining what a game in the style of GTA would be like with a Japanese elderly woman set in Japan appeared on YouTube. The video is called Baba Theft Senior Car, but we’re going to call it “GTA Granny”, because it fits MUCH better. 😂
The idea is clearly a parody of Grand Theft Auto. “ババア” (babā) means something like “old lady” or “granny” in a very informal, and somewhat rude, way, while シニアカー (shinia kā) refers to electric vehicles used by elderly people.
Baba Theft Senior Car, the “GTA Granny,” Has Already Surpassed 700,000 Views
In other words: it’s basically “Grand Theft Auto with a granny.”
The video was uploaded on September 9 and quickly started gaining attention on Japanese YouTube. It surpassed 100,000 views in a short time and has already crossed the 700,000-view mark.
And don’t think it’s just a random sequence generated by AI. The video actually has a small story and puts its protagonist in all kinds of situations you wouldn’t expect to see happening in rural Japan.
The elderly woman is shown in the Japanese countryside, stealing bicycles from unsuspecting people, breaking into houses, using weapons, stealing jewelry, killing guards, being chased, and even paying for her train fare.
Who Created “GTA Granny”?
The video comes from the Japanese channel AI動画ラボコイコイ, which can be roughly translated as AI Video Lab Koikoi.
And if you take a look at the channel, you’ll notice that the creator apparently LOVES putting AI-generated elderly women into the most absurd situations imaginable.

Some of the videos published on the channel feature ideas such as an AI granny spy and even battle royale-style games involving elderly women.
So GTA Granny didn’t come completely out of nowhere. It’s part of the channel’s ongoing idea of imagining crazy situations involving elderly characters created with AI.
GTA Granny Has Gamers Asking for a Real Game
Looking through the video’s comments, many viewers simply bought into the idea and started wishing for Baba Theft Senior Car to become an actual game.

Let’s take a look at some of the reactions?
- “I really want them to turn this into a game.”
- “The quality is insanely good, I’m actually laughing.”
- “This is the reality of Japan’s future.”
- “Honestly, that was hilarious.”
- “The part where the NPC couldn’t get on properly felt so realistic.”
- “MAKE IT.”
- “Nintendo Direct should announce this too.”
- “After doing all that, the granny suddenly says, ‘The world has been getting dangerous lately, huh?’ What a character.”
- “This was FUNNY AS HELL.”
- “The part where she carefully taps her card at the station gate was absolutely hilarious.”
- “In some parts, the movements actually look like a real game.”
Some comments also pointed out the little mistakes and strange AI behaviors that somehow make the video feel even more like an actual game.
What AI Was Used to Create GTA Granny?
As mentioned, Seedance 2.5 was used to produce the video.
Seedance 2.5 is a video generation model developed by ByteDance, the company behind TikTok.
The model was unveiled by ByteDance during the Volcano Engine 2026 conference on June 23, 2026, and was later made available on platforms such as Pollo AI.
One of Seedance 2.5’s features is its ability to generate videos of up to 30 seconds in a single generation.
