EXSTETRA Is a JRPG Where You Have to Kiss Everyone

After more than a decade of being exclusive to Japan, EXSTETRA is finally available to players worldwide. The JRPG developed by Studio Saizensen and published by FuRyu has received an HD remaster, marking its first official release outside the Japanese market.

Originally released in 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita, the game can now be purchased on Steam. To celebrate the launch, FuRyu is offering a limited-time discount on both the standard edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition.

A JRPG Where Kisses Give Power to Your Allies

The story follows Ryoma, a high school student who loses his memories and discovers that he is the “Prisma,” the chosen one destined to save the world of Amazea. This world was created after modern-day Tokyo merged with a mysterious realm.

During his journey, Ryoma meets several companions, both male and female, who can awaken their true powers through a kiss, transforming them into the so-called Prisma Knights.

This unusual mechanic is one of EXSTETRA’s biggest highlights and is deeply integrated into both the story and the character progression system.

The battle system is turn-based and allows you to form parties of up to four Prisma Knights at the same time.

In addition to traditional MP-consuming abilities, there is an exclusive resource called EXS. Only Ryoma can accumulate this energy by defeating enemies, then share it with his allies through kisses to strengthen their special abilities during battle.

Explore Twisted Versions of Shibuya and Akihabara

Outside of combat, players can explore famous areas of Tokyo, such as Shibuya and Akihabara, now overrun by nature and monsters.

Players will also be able to strengthen their bonds with other characters, increasing their power and unlocking new possibilities throughout the adventure.

For now, EXSTETRA is available only on Steam. However, FuRyu has confirmed that the HD remaster will also be released in the future for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 1 and 2.

For fans of classic JRPGs who never had the chance to experience the game, this will be the first official opportunity to discover one of the most unique titles in FuRyu’s library outside Japan.
