A Japanese user named Aikawa explained that before they started dating, her future husband was working during a holiday and had stored his bag containing all of his decks in a company locker.
During his shift, something unbelievable happened. A heavy machine ended up hitting and crushing the locker where the cards were stored. As a result, the entire collection he used for duels was destroyed.
For any dedicated card game player, losing several decks at once represents not only a financial loss but also a huge emotional blow. Many people would probably quit the hobby after a loss of that magnitude.
Fortunately, his fellow duelists decided to act immediately. As soon as they heard what had happened, they began searching through their own collections for spare cards and offered help so he could rebuild his decks and continue playing.
The situation surprised many internet users, who were shocked to learn that a locker had been completely crushed by heavy machinery. Others joked that the incident sounded like something that would happen directly in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh!.
Fans Compared the Duelist to Yusei from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s
The story also led many fans to compare the man to Yusei Fudo, the protagonist of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s. In the anime, Yusei rebuilds his deck thanks to the help of people who believed in him and shared their cards.
