Selfies of a Man in Women’s Clothing Go Viral and Make the Internet Fall in Love
Japanese social media user Aruha recently shared a series of selfies wearing Japanese-style women’s clothing. In just two days, the images surpassed 30 million views and quickly became a hot topic among users.
In the photos, Aruha can be seen wearing a classic Japanese schoolgirl uniform, complete with a jacket, white shirt, pleated skirt, and black thigh-high socks. The look especially caught attention because of the small strip of exposed skin between the skirt and socks, known in Japan as zettai ryouiki, along with his appearance resembling characters from anime.
For those who don’t know, zettai ryouiki refers to the exposed area of skin between a skirt or short shorts and thigh-high socks.
The comments were overwhelmingly positive, with users writing things like “I completely fell in love” and “That zettai ryouiki is just unfair.”
In fact, Aruha is a man who enjoys wearing women’s clothing. He regularly shares different styles of the Japanese otoko no ko look on social media, including school uniforms, dresses, and maid outfits. He also occasionally posts content related to video games
Many users only discovered that he was a man after finding older posts on his profile. Even so, the reaction was surprisingly positive.
Some users commented that he was “cuter than many women,” while another joked, “My romantic preferences are divided into before I met him and after I met him.”
Another comment highlighted his long hair and serious-looking eyes, saying that he looked “like a character who walked straight out of a manga.”
