Ichijou Ririka Says She Won’t Retire Even If She Gets Married
Hololive VTuber Ichijou Ririka decided to challenge the “tradition” of idols and VTubers when it comes to marriage. During a recent livestream, she said that even if she gets married, she does not plan to retire or hide it from her fans.
During a livestream, Ichijou Ririka was talking about a friend. She said that she went to her friend’s wedding and ended up crying even more than her friend’s parents.
And since the topic was marriage, she ended up talking about the possibility of getting married someday and whether her fans would cry too. That’s when a fan asked: “Do you want to get married?”
And that’s where the topic began:
Ichijou Ririka said that she does want to get married, but wanting to get married doesn’t mean she is going to actively try to make it happen. She has no intention of going to parties or dating events, but if “something good happens,” she will simply go with the flow.
Finally, she said that even if she gets married, she will not stop doing livestreams. She would rather be honest about it and make an announcement saying that she is getting married, while also making it clear that she will not stop streaming.
After that, she asked her chat whether they would want to receive an announcement like that, and the responses were pretty much split 50-50. Ichijou Ririka also assured her fans that she does not currently have a boyfriend.

Ichijou Ririka responded at the time:

For me, the fans are the most important, but I know there are people who don’t want me to interact with men. In order to grow as an artist, it will be inevitable that I interact with men, you know? It’s not like I judge people based on whether they’re a man or a woman.
I know how you feel, but… I’m sorry, I will still do collaborations if there is a good reason. If you feel that I’m no longer for you, I would be happy if you could remember when you used to like me.”
So she really is quite HONEST!
And remember, this happened more than a year ago. In the same clip where Ichijou Ririka talks about marriage, she says that nowadays, probably all the people who hated seeing her interact with men have already left, so everything is fine.
