Steam Surprises Fans With a “Netorare Carnival” Featuring NTR Games
If someone had told me that Steam would host an actual “Netorare Carnival,” I probably wouldn’t have believed them. But it happened: the platform is running a special event featuring several adult games with netorare (NTR) themes.
And I’ll be completely honest… I never thought I’d see this on Steam.
Is Steam Hosting a Netorare Game Festival?
The event started on September 22 and runs through October 6, bringing together a variety of adult games featuring NTR themes.
Some of the companies and publishers participating include HGamer, Mango Party, Saikey, and LewdLoco, with several titles from the genre included in the sale.
For those unfamiliar with the term, netorare, often abbreviated as NTR, is a fictional genre centered around relationships in which one character sees their partner become romantically or sexually involved with someone else. It’s a genre that has been becoming increasingly popular, generates a lot of money, and has even led to death threats.
And now Steam itself has decided to bring several games like this together in a dedicated event.
Which Games Are Featured In Steam’s NTR Festival?
When you enter the event’s special page, Steam presents a selection of titles, starting with the best-selling games in the festival:

Is Steam Helping Popularize The NTR Genre?
I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that Steam is contributing to the popularization of the netorare genre to this extent, going as far as creating practically an entire NTR game carnival.
If you want to support this absolute nonsense, you can check out the festival on Steam itself.
From what I saw, it doesn’t appear on the platform’s homepage precisely because it involves adult games, so you’ll only come across the event by visiting one of the participating games’ pages.
I never expected this from Steam.
