Artist Reveals the Logo of His Adult Manga Was Handwritten by His Editor

Sometimes certain things don’t really need to be done in such a labor-intensive way, and that’s why I’m always surprised when people dedicate so much effort to making something, especially if it’s a hentai manga.

In 2021, hentai author Higashide Irodori released the hentai manga Budding Strawberry, a story about a guy who goes to a hotel, meets a girl there, and then things happen.

In 2021, after the manga was released, author Higashide Irodori revealed on his social media that the elegant Japanese calligraphy-style logo had not been created by a professional designer.

In fact, the artwork was made by the magazine’s own editor.

According to the mangaka, the editor wrote several different versions of the title using a traditional brush until one of them was chosen as the official logo for the work.

At the time, Japanese fans were amazed to learn that an editor also needed to master this kind of artistic skill. Many praised the final result and said they never would have imagined that the logo had been created by hand by the editor, as the finished product looked like the work of a professional designer.

The author also took the opportunity to thank the editor for the effort, highlighting the dedication that went into producing several different versions until they found the one that best matched the identity of the story.
