Man Trades His Audi R8 for Pokémon Cards

You would trade your luxury car (if you had one) for Pokémon cards? Apparently, this really happened according to a Facebook post. A man says he traded his Audi R8 for a vast collection of Pokémon cards.

The set included in the car trade contained sealed products and cards valued at around 75 thousand dollars, as well as approximately 65 thousand dollars in individual cards, many of them from the Pokémon Sun & Moon era.
This period of the game, released between 2017 and 2019, has become highly valuable due to the scarcity of sealed products and the growing demand among collectors. With the end of print runs for these sets, the items have steadily increased in market value, especially sealed versions.

The collector responsible for the deal stated that he is still organizing all the material received, which includes storage boxes, boosters, and rare cards. He also mentioned that he plans to document the process on video.
The case is not isolated. In recent years, the collectible card market has recorded million-dollar sales and high-value trades, also driven by speculation and resellers who buy everything out quickly to resell at higher prices later.
Every news I see about cards makes me less and less willing to start collecting them, because they keep getting more and more expensive.
