Light Novel about Childhood Friend with Massive Boobs Gets a Manga Adaptation

A new light novel released in Japan decided to go all-in on the heroine’s absurdly oversized chest—and yes, that is basically the main theme of the story. Today we’re talking about the light novel Ore no Osananajimi ga Dekkkkkaku Nari Sugita (“My Childhood Friend Got Waaaaaaaaay Too Big”), a romantic comedy that fully embraces its ridiculous premise.

And the moment you see the heroine, Riri Mino, you immediately understand what exactly became “way too big.”

The story follows a boy who reunites in high school with his childhood friend, Riri Mino, someone he used to hang out with almost like one of the guys back in elementary school. But when they meet again, he quickly realizes she has changed… a lot. Her chest has grown to an unbelievable size, becoming the source of constant trouble in her daily life.

Riri honestly tells him: “To be honest, this causes me a lot of problems! Harassment, guys hitting on me, talent scouts approaching me… So… could you become my bodyguard?”

From that unexpected request, their chaotic and heart-racing new relationship begins. They start spending more time together, from working out side by side to going to the pool, while the protagonist tries to protect her from unwanted attention and, of course, all the classic romcom misunderstandings that come with it.

Because of her overwhelmingly large chest, awkward accidents and embarrassing situations happen constantly, turning the series into a full-on over-the-top romantic comedy centered around a childhood friend who is, quite literally, too big to ignore.

And now there’s another new development: the manga adaptation officially began serialization today, April 27, giving the series even more attention among fans of light novel romcoms.

Honestly, I kind of respect the author here—they wanted to write a story about a girl with absurdly huge breasts and simply made that the entire core of the plot. No pretending otherwise, no hidden deeper excuse—just full commitment to the concept.

As expected, Japanese comments about the series are pretty divided:

  • “It’s basically like Tawawa on Monday.”

  • “This looks like something an idiot would read.”

  • “It must be hard to live like that every day.”

  • “This just looks ridiculous.”

  • “It’s basically just a sexualized moe illustration.”

  • “But honestly, that’s exactly the kind of thing we want.”

  • “What is this art… disgusting…”

  • “At this point it’s almost too much.”

  • “This is that illustrator people used to mock for always drawingthe same pose lol.”

Yeah… opinions definitely vary a lot.
