NaruHina Cured the Author of Nagatoro from Extreme Tastes

Did you know that the marriage between Naruto and Hinata “cured” the author of Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro? Nanashi was known for publishing hentai manga with extremely heavy themes—something I had already covered here before, talking about Nanashi’s hentai past.

However, what I didn’t know at the time I made that post is that the NaruHina couple saved him from questionable tastes! So yes, you can thank Naruto for marrying Hinata instead of Sakura for that!

Okay, but what exactly happened?

Japanese Twitter was initially discussing My Hero Academia and ships involving Ochaco with either Deku or Bakugou. During that discussion, someone commented on how Naruto chose the right girl by ending up with Hinata.

According to him, Hinata has several advantages over Sakura: “big breasts, good personality, big breasts, a good family, big breasts, and she’s a well-mannered girl.”

Another fan agreed, saying, “Without a doubt, choosing Hinata was the right decision,” and then another user brought up Nanashi, saying the following:

“It’s a very well-known story that a certain mangaka who used to draw extreme adult manga, even netorare, was purified by NaruHina and ended up creating the ultra-popular pure love manga Nagatoro-san.”

That post reached a total of 5.4 million views, so I went looking for more details. I checked out Nanashi’s old hentai manga from the past, and just seeing the tags made me feel sick (yes, I have a weak stomach).

However, he ended up making two Naruto x Hinata doujins, and both are incredibly wholesome! He even admitted this himself. In a 2015 Naruto and Hinata doujin, he commented:

“I ended up drawing a pure love manga between Naruto and Hinata. It’s a bit different from what I usually do, right? What do you think?”

Still, some people questioned this, pointing out that Nagatoro was extremely harsh at the beginning of the manga—so much so that some readers feared Senpai might commit something drastic.

It’s worth mentioning that Nagatoro gradually became cuter over time. Nanashi released his first two wholesome Naruto x Hinata doujins in 2015 and officially began serializing Nagatoro in 2017!

There is also a tweet from 2014 in which the author of Nagatoro replies to a fan saying that he was “purified by NaruHina.”

Let’s look at some reactions:

• For some reason, I suddenly can’t forgive NaruHina anymore.

• There was a time when “Nanashi” was practically synonymous with “ripping off nipples.” It seems even the author himself doesn’t want that remembered, so fans also avoid bringing it up.
