On the night of September 4, a cosplayer died after falling from the 28th floor of a condominium in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia. The case shocked residents and went viral on social media after many pages and accounts claimed that the woman jumped while wearing a Kurumi cosplay from the anime Date A Live.

According to local police, the victim was 34 years old, five months pregnant, and lived in the apartment with her mother. Witnesses reported hearing a loud noise around 9:10 p.m. before discovering her body in the building’s parking area.

Forensic teams found the bedroom window open, along with footprints on a nearby table, suggesting she may have climbed onto it before falling. Her phone and ID card were also found in the room.

Authorities confirmed that there were no signs of foul play and classified the case as a sudden death. Her body was taken to the Penang Hospital Forensic Department for autopsy.
