JAV Inspired by Horror Manga Cancelled After Pre-Orders Open

FANZA sent an official cancellation notice for a JAV film that was available in pre-sale. The film was removed from the catalog due to “production company circumstances”, and all purchases were automatically canceled with refunds issued to those who had bought it.
What makes it curious is that the product in question was a VR JAV film inspired by the work Hen na Ie, known as “The Strange House” — one of the most viral Japanese mysteries in recent years.
Hen na Ie is a mystery novel created by author Uketsu, which started as viral internet content and later became a book, manga, and even a film.

The story revolves around something seemingly simple: a house with a “normal” architectural floor plan… but with structures that make no sense. When analyzing the layout, the characters notice things that don’t add up.
Rooms with no logical function, hidden spaces inside the structure, areas that seem designed to conceal something, and highly suspicious architectural details. The characters begin investigating the house, and as the investigation progresses, things become increasingly dark, involving theories about family secrets and possible crimes.

The popularity was so great that the work received a manga adaptation illustrated by Kyō Ayano. As you can see above, the JAV industry shows no mercy, and a film heavily inspired by Hen na Ie was set to be sold but ended up being cancelled.
JAV Inspired by Horror Manga Cancelled After Pre-Orders Open
The JAV film based on Hen na Ie had already been fully filmed and was in pre-sale, but buyers received a message stating that their purchase had been canceled and they would receive a refund.

Yes, the actress in the film wears the same outfit as the character in the original work, and remember that this film is in VR. FANZA only stated that the cancellation was due to “production company circumstances”, so we can only imagine what happened for a completed film to have its release canceled.
Let’s look at some reactions from Japanese users:
- The fact that it says “Uketsu” in the bottom right corner already makes this completely out of the question.
- They really went too far this time.
- Did they not ask for permission?
- There is no non-erotic original content that can get authorization to become AV like this.
- Was it Uketsu who complained?
- I think the original creator vetoed it.
- It makes sense that it was blocked.
- It would’ve been great, I wish I had bought it lol
- Did people actually reserve this?
- Imagine being the guy who reserved a Uketsu parody AV 😭
- If this can’t exist, then all celebrity parody AVs should also be banned.
- Imagine the person who reserved it… lol
- AV making me laugh, what is this lol
- If this got blocked and cancelled, does that mean previous parody AVs are now “official”?
Another case of a completed JAV that ended up being cancelled.
