AV Actress Is Arrested Alongside Yakuza Member in Motel Room Over Drug Use
AV actress Serina Arata may have ended her career after police found her in a Love Hotel (motel) room with a Yakuza member, where cocaine was allegedly discovered hidden inside the room.
The suspects were identified as 32-year-old Shota Sugawara, who is reportedly affiliated with the Yamaguchi-gumi, and 27-year-old Seika Abe, better known in the adult entertainment industry by her stage name, Serina Arata.

According to authorities, police raided a hotel room in Toshima on July 14 and found the two suspects together on the bed. Approximately 0.7 grams of cocaine was reportedly found hidden under the sheets and on a shelf beside the bed.
Police believe the drugs were being used inside the room.
Sugawara admitted to the allegations during questioning. Abe, however, denied using cocaine and told investigators that she had not consumed the drug.
Sugawara was already on the police’s radar before the arrest. He is believed to be the leader of a tokuryu group, a type of criminal organization whose members communicate anonymously through social media.
Between 2024 and July of this year, he was reportedly arrested several times over suspected theft, preparation for robbery, and specialized fraud schemes.
Investigators had also been monitoring his frequent stays at the Toshima hotel while investigating the alleged crimes.
Actress Had a Sports Career Before Entering the AV Industry
The case has also drawn attention to Seika Abe’s unusual background.
Born in Otaru, Hokkaido, Abe began synchronized swimming at the age of three and was once considered a promising young athlete. She later moved into competitive swimming and participated in high-level school competitions.

She also attended Yamanashi Gakuin University, but an injury eventually ended her sports career after around 17 years dedicated to athletics.
Abe entered the AV industry in 2021 and later worked as a gravure model, ring girl, and in overseas video productions.
Police are now continuing to investigate how the actress met the alleged crime group leader and how the cocaine found at the hotel was obtained.
