AV Actress Cancels Fan Event Due to Fear of Appearing in Public

Japanese AV actress Hoshino Riko canceled an event that was supposed to celebrate the release of her photobook and publicly apologized to fans. Initially, the reason given was that she had fallen ill, but the truth later came to light.

Japanese adult actress Hoshino Riko, 27, used her social media accounts to apologize after the cancellation of the launch event for her photobook Leo e, which was scheduled to take place at two bookstores in Tokyo.

Initially, the fan meeting had only been postponed due to health issues. A new event was supposed to take place, but the actress later confirmed that the event had been permanently canceled; there would be no new event, and that was it.
At first, Hoshino only said this:
“I deeply apologize that the event, which had already been postponed, ended up being canceled. I will explain what happened as soon as possible,” wrote the actress.
Some time later, Hoshino Riko finally decided to reveal the real reason behind the cancellation of her event, and the reason is… fear of appearing in public. The actress stated that she feels panic when surrounded by unfamiliar gazes and that, even when trying to attend the venue, she becomes unable to move.

According to her, the fear of standing in front of several people became so intense that her body simply stopped responding.
In addition, she confessed that speaking directly with fans, answering questions about her work, or even being asked whether she remembered people’s names had begun causing her severe anxiety.
Hoshino Riko Reveals Illness and Mentions Panic Attacks
During her confession, the artist stated that she began suffering panic attacks during the photo sessions for the photobook. According to Hoshino, the symptoms intensified over time, leading her to believe that she is currently dealing with an illness.
“I think that, in my current state, I am sick,” wrote the actress.

Despite the situation, Hoshino asked fans to continue supporting her and appreciating the photobook, emphasizing that many people worked on its production. She also thanked everyone who bought the book and took the time to attend the event, repeatedly apologizing for not being able to meet them in person.
Following the post, many fans showed support for the actress on social media, sending messages wishing for her recovery and encouraging Hoshino Riko to prioritize her health before returning to public activities.
She debuted as an AV actress in 2022.
