A new trend involving Draco Malfoy has been getting attention on X, with fans imagining what the Harry Potter character would be like if he were a girl.

Honestly, I looked around quite a bit trying to figure out exactly where this idea started, but I found conflicting information. Apparently, it may have started with someone drawing Malfoy as a girl or with some fanfiction that changed the character’s gender.

But honestly… wow, Draco would look REALLY good as a girl.

Just imagine it: a girl who starts the story as a sort of antagonist in Harry Potter, raised in a traditional wizarding family full of prejudice, but who eventually develops feelings for Harry himself.

After seeing all the fan art being made, I have to admit that I kind of wish Malfoy had actually been a girl in the story. Forget Ginny or Hermione!

Okay, I’ll say it: I genuinely think Malfoy should have been a girl in the original story.

While browsing X, I saw so many people imagining scenarios involving a female version of Draco that I started thinking this could have actually worked really well in the story.

And there’s even a detail involving Draco Malfoy’s wand that makes the idea even more interesting.

According to something I saw circulating on Twitter, Draco’s wand core is made of unicorn hair. Unicorns, in turn, are traditionally associated with purity.

So imagine a girl who was raised in an extremely prejudiced family, treats Harry as an enemy, but is also pure? AAAAH, that would make for such a good romance.

There’s Already a Fanfic With Draco as a Girl

And here’s the part that surprised me.

Even though this idea is going viral now, apparently there is already a Korean Harry Potter fanfic where Draco Malfoy is a girl.

The story has no fewer than 110 chapters and was completed about five years ago.
