“I Am the Author,” Says Masakazu Ishiguro After Responding to Fan Who Doubted His Explanation About Heavenly Delusion

Masakazu Ishiguro was on his Twitter account explaining details about Heavenly Delusion and ended up attracting attention on social media because of a moment that was as curious as it was funny. Besides revealing small creative decisions behind one of the manga’s scenes, the author also replied to a fan who questioned whether that information had actually been confirmed by the creator of the manga.
Warning: This article contains minor story spoilers.
Known for his incredible attention to detail (so much so that he even keeps track of Kiruko’s menstrual cycle), Ishiguro showed that practically every action taken by the characters has a specific reason behind it. In an explanation posted on social media, he commented on a scene from Volume 12 involving Kiruko.

According to the author, the character isn’t actually sitting on the cushion because they don’t fully trust the other person in the scene. The decision was made to allow for a quick reaction in case of danger.
In his explanation, Ishiguro details that staying away from the cushion prevents Kiruko from tripping over it if they need to retreat immediately. In addition, it remains within arm’s reach so it can be used as an improvised shield or even thrown at a potential enemy.
The author also highlights other small precautions Kiruko takes during the scene, such as checking the gun and positioning the bag in a way that allows for quick access if necessary.

These elements may go unnoticed during a normal reading, but they demonstrate the care put into the panel composition and the psychological construction of the characters.
Now for the Funny Part! “I Am the Author!”
As impressive as the explanations already were to many readers, one response completely stole the spotlight. A user commented that the analysis was interesting but asked whether it had been confirmed by the author of the work.
Since the post had been made by Masakazu Ishiguro himself, the response was direct and incredibly funny:

HAHAHA!
I understand that many people have doubts, especially when they see profiles talking about things on Twitter, but I think it’s important to check the profile posting that information to get an idea of its credibility.
The situation quickly went viral among fans, who reacted with disbelief and plenty of jokes. Many comments mocked the person who asked the question, saying they could have simply checked the profile before asking.
As you can see, that reply alone reached 2 million views! It was one of the funniest situations involving a mangaka in recent months!
I just hope Heavenly Delusion gets a second season soon.
