Hatsune Miku Players Receive Warning Over Toxic Behavior

I used to play competitive Overwatch, and I can say I quit because it was incredibly stressful to play that game. It was quite common to enter a match and have someone trolling, someone leaving the team, or a player performing badly and everyone starting to argue in voice chat. But I never imagined that a Hatsune Miku game would have the same problem.

The Hatsune Miku community received a warning over toxic behavior after the developers of Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! released an official statement asking players to stop attacks, harassment, and other negative attitudes both inside and outside the game!

On May 27, the team responsible for Colorful Stage! published a lengthy message highlighting various behaviors considered inappropriate.

Among the examples mentioned were attacks against other players during co-op matches, sharing leaked information, provoking others on social media, and even exaggerated rivalries between fans of different characters.

According to the developers, many players have favorite characters or groups, and offensive comments can end up harming the community experience.

Statements such as offensive criticism of characters’ talents, attacks against specific fans, and provocations directed at certain groups were mentioned as examples of behavior that should be avoided.

Players Were Also Targeted by Attacks

In addition to discussions involving characters, the developers drew attention to cases of harassment against players themselves.

The statement mentions situations where users were ridiculed for missing combos during co-op matches, having a low rank, or even for not spending money on the game.

The team also asked for more respect regarding the songs, stories, and illustrations featured in the title, criticizing comments that directly attack the creators’ work or demand the removal of certain characters.

Developers Call for a Healthier Community

The goal of the statement is to encourage a more positive environment among fans. The developers emphasized that differing opinions are natural, but personal attacks and harassment should not be part of the community experience.

With millions of players around the world, Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! remains one of the most popular rhythm games in the franchise, and the team hopes fans will help create a more welcoming environment for everyone.
