JAV Films About Volunteers Spark Controversy
Well, here we go again with another controversy involving a JAV film. In case you don’t know, JAV films are often either parodies or extremely creative productions, and parodies in particular can generate controversy, like today’s case involving a film from SOD.
Their new film was directed by Chinpo Dazai and stars actress Haru Shibasaki in the leading role. The production is a parody about a woman who becomes a volunteer in an area affected by a disaster.
Japan frequently faces earthquakes, tsunamis, and other natural disasters, so it is common to see volunteers helping people by delivering food, water, and essential supplies. This JAV film simply takes someone in that type of situation and turns it into an adult scenario.
The film was released digitally on December 2 and later received a physical release in January. In the story, Haru Shibasaki plays a “sexual relief volunteer,” offering to help a group of men living in a shelter by “relieving” them.
The film’s theme generated complaints on Twitter:
“I’m a man. Honestly, I feel ashamed as someone of the same gender. Men who only exist to cause sexual violence are completely unnecessary.”
“Shouldn’t things like this be considered a crime? Just like molestation on trains or when minors end up becoming victims… Isn’t this exactly the kind of content people who commit those crimes want to see?”
“In fact, many women don’t know much about AV (Japanese adult videos), so I think it would be good if men spoke up about this kind of thing. I want people to realize how inhumane parts of the AV industry in Japan can be and how it’s becoming increasingly driven by extreme stimulation and addiction.”
“The moment you connect disasters with sexuality, you’ve already crossed the line. There’s no way to defend this. It also makes sense when people say that ‘men themselves should stop this.’”
“This is such a terrible story! I think it clearly proves a certain kind of male aggression.”
However, this wasn’t the only JAV that ended up in controversy. There was another one whose cover you can see below.
The film above was released in August 2025 and tells the story of an innocent girl who volunteers to pick up trash from the streets and perform charity work in her neighborhood. During the film’s story, she ends up being “caught” in the situation.
