AI Used to Censor the Black Clover Girls in Arabic Scan
Some time ago, a censorship incident went viral online when an Arabic scan edited One Punch Man, covering Tatsumaki’s more revealing outfit. Now, the same has happened again—this time with Black Clover—where they used AI to censor the female characters who appeared in bikinis on the cover of one of the most recent chapters.
What’s curious here is that the censorship did not come from the official publisher, but from fan-made scans. These scans, which translate chapters unofficially, altered the bodies of the female characters using artificial intelligence.
AI Used to Censor the Black Clover Girls
The cover of chapter 384 of the Black Clover manga features several of the female characters wearing beach bikinis.
However, Arabic scans modified the image, dressing the girls with digitally generated clothes. According to what could be seen online, this was done using AI tools.
A heated discussion soon erupted online after a social media post went viral praising the team for “removing fanservice” from Black Clover and criticizing the author for being “shameless.”
“Congratulations to this team for removing the fanservice from the illustration. I’m taking this opportunity to condemn Tabata’s behavior. It’s a shame. Let’s keep fighting until we reach a world without fanservice! No hypocrisy,” the user posted.
The reactions were immediate and strong:
