Chapter 144 of Sousou no Frieren has been released, and fans are not very happy with what a certain character said. Currently, the story features three factions clashing for complicated reasons (hard to sum up in one line).

They exchange words until he questions whether her death would bring any benefit. That’s when Serie drops the bombshell: she will be assassinated. She doesn’t know who will kill her, how she will die, or what will follow after her death.
