VTuber Launches Girlfriend Plan Costing $630 Per Month

Yesterday, we reported about a VTuber who plays games with her feet and developed a “second ankle” after five years of practice. Today, we have another VTuber who launched a new support plan called the “Girlfriend Plan.”
VTuber Launches Girlfriend Plan Costing $630 Per Month
Japanese VTuber Nana recently announced the opening of a fan club on the Ci-en platform, offering five different monthly subscription tiers. Prices range from 500 yen to an impressive 100,000 yen (around $630), with the most expensive tier called the “Girlfriend Plan.”
According to the released information, this premium plan includes benefits such as LINE exchanges (a popular messaging app in Japan), weekly one-on-one calls, and even joint gaming sessions. The proposal attracted attention mainly due to the level of closeness promised between the VTuber and her subscribers — it’s as if she were truly your girlfriend!

The image shared for the plan reinforces this concept, showcasing a “virtual girlfriend” aesthetic, something common in otaku culture but rarely seen so directly in paid models. Initially, the plan was limited to only one subscriber, but it was later expanded to two slots — which generated even more online comments and jokes.
On social media, many users reacted with surprise at the price. Some commented that “not even a real relationship would cost this much per month,” while others criticized the model for encouraging an overly close connection between the VTuber and her fans.

On the other hand, some defended the initiative, arguing it’s merely a form of entertainment and fans are free to spend their money as they wish. Still, the debate around this type of monetization continues to grow.
It’s worth noting that initially, this plan was available for only one subscriber! Yes, just ONE person could sign up for the Girlfriend Plan, but then Nana expanded it to two slots!
As soon as she expanded it to two slots, jokes about netorare appeared, with some nicknaming the plan the “Netorare Girlfriend Plan.”
“This is no longer a Girlfriend Plan.”
“Now it became an NTR Plan.”
“If there’s more than one ‘boyfriend,’ it’s no longer an exclusive relationship,”
others commented. At this moment, there’s 1 person paying for the Girlfriend Plan, with 1 slot still open.
