Vtuber Agency Cancels Event After Death Threats

REJECT is an entertainment and eSports organization founded in 2018 that manages several Vtubers under its brand. Recently, it became a hot topic after receiving a serious threat.

The agency had planned to hold the Tooko 3D Commemorative LIVE Public Viewing event on October 5, but it was canceled for safety reasons.

During preparations, severe threats were discovered, and after discussions with the venue, the company decided to cancel the event to ensure everyone’s safety.

According to social media reports, someone allegedly threatened to plant a bomb at the event with the intent to harm many people.

Tooko is one of the Vtubers managed by the agency. She debuted in 2021 and is known as a League of Legends player. The event was meant to celebrate her debut with a 3D model, which eventually took place in a Twitch livestream on the same day.

Tooko currently has 122,000 YouTube subscribers and 243,000 Twitch followers. What left fans most puzzled was: “Why threaten a small Vtuber like Tooko?”

Many have been asking that same question, leading to various theories — perhaps someone who dislikes her, or even someone who knows her personally and feels envy. Either way, it’s shocking to think that someone threatened to bomb an event for a Vtuber with fewer than 300,000 followers.
