Thailand to Host Uma Musume Cosplay Race

Cosplayers of Uma Musume will finally be able to live their dream of racing just like the girls from the game. Without a doubt, more and more people have become interested in real horse racing because of Uma Musume — to the point that one player even bought a racehorse.

An exciting event will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, where fans can wear cosplay of their favorite characters and run on the very same track used by professional racehorses!

A Real Uma Musume Cosplay Racing Event

If you’ve ever wondered what a live-action version of Uma Musume might look like, events like these give us a glimpse. Similar cosplay runs have already happened in countries such as Indonesia, where fans sprinted like the Uma Musume girls.

However, those were just fan gatherings. Now, the Royal Bangkok Sports Club has officially stepped in. They will organize a cosplay race called “Cosplay Racing”, set to take place on September 14th, right after the day’s final horse race.

The race will cover 150 meters, with cosplayers lining up at the starting gates and dashing down the same turf as the thoroughbreds. Winners will receive cash prizes ranging from $27 to $80.

Originally, the plan was to hold just two races — one for men and one for women. But due to overwhelming registration requests, the Royal Bangkok Sports Club announced the addition of two more cosplay races!
