Amazon Japan Removes Tentacle Boyfriend Manga Without Notice

You know the anime B Gata H Kei (official English title: Yamada’s First Time: B Gata H Kei)? This is a manga by Sanri Youko that premiered in 2010 and follows a girl who wants to have sex with 100 people before finishing school. The manga ended years ago, and the author now has a new manga called Tentacle Boyfriend!

Volume 1 of Tentacle Boyfriend is finally on sale, but if it depends on Amazon Japan, the manga won’t be available — the store removed it from its website.

The author commented on the situation. First, in a tweet, she announced the release of Volume 1 of Tentacle Boyfriend:

“The first volume of an erotic comedy about becoming intimate with a boyfriend who has tentacles is now on sale.”

In the next tweet, she explained what happened with Amazon Japan:

“The manga Tentacle Boyfriend has been removed from circulation on Amazon. Those who already purchased the digital version and downloaded it apparently can still read it without issues. Please consider buying from other sites such as Yodobashi Camera, Rakuten Books, and other stores available in the link. I apologize for the inconvenience. Maybe it will become available again someday.”

I took a quick look at Amazon Japan, and at the moment I wrote this post, it was still unavailable. But then, what is the manga about?

The story follows a dating couple, but one day the boy, Shinta Uetori, starts noticing changes in his body — he begins to develop tentacles! He eventually reveals his tentacles to his beloved girlfriend Kurumi.

However, Kurumi’s reaction is not what he expected! It turns out she is a pervert who LOVES adult tentacle manga, so this body change is something she can easily accept. And thus, this romcom begins.
