Kazuya Imagina Chizuru com Outro Cara Novamente

The two most recent chapters of Rent-A-Girlfriend brought some interesting developments — specifically chapters 395 and 396 — as we saw Chizuru reject Umi’s confession, followed by Umi calling Kazuya to arrange a “talk” with him.

Let’s start from the beginning.

Chizuru Rejects Umi’s Confession

In chapter 395, Umi and Chizuru were out on a date when she finally gave him her answer. She said she simply couldn’t see him in the way he wanted.

Umi seemed surprised and immediately asked if Chizuru had gotten closer to Kazuya and whether the two were dating. She replied that they weren’t and added that whoever she chose to be with must be a great guy — and that would be enough for him.

Chizuru then admitted that she might be in love and wanted to face “that person.” The chapter ended with Kazuya getting a call from Umi — which completely freaked him out — leading us to chapter 396.

And now we have the newest chapter, and honestly, I’m amazed by how often this series dedicates entire chapters to showing Kazuya losing his mind over every possible scenario.

Rent-A-Girlfriend Chapter 396 centers entirely on Kazuya panicking and imagining what Umi could possibly want with him, especially after calling so late. His imagination goes wild — to the point where he envisions Umi kissing Chizuru, straight out of a netorare (NTR) hentai scene:

At this point, I’m convinced that if those two ever do start dating, Kazuya would probably develop a netorare fetish and ask Chizuru to be with other guys — because seriously, who imagines stuff like that about the girl they like?

As for what happens in the rest of the chapter: after his freak-out, Kazuya finally answers the call, and it turns out Umi just wants to meet up. They agree on a date to talk.

Honestly, I don’t trust Umi at all. It really feels like we’re heading into an arc where he tries to mess with their relationship, even after saying all those things to Chizuru. I just don’t buy it.

But the real question is… why am I still reading this manga?
