During the 71st Kikuchi Kan Prize ceremony, held on December 1, 2023, Masako Nozawa made a major statement that deeply moved everyone.
Nozawa was honored with the Kikuchi Kan Prize for her contributions to Japanese culture. In her speech, she expressed surprise at being selected to receive such an honor:
“I am incredibly happy to receive such a wonderful award, but I feel there must be someone more deserving than me,” Nozawa said.

However, the most striking part of her speech was her plan for the future, when she stated that she intends to continue voice acting until she is 182 years old.
“I love working as a voice actress. I plan to continue until I am 182 years old.”
But why 182? Nozawa explained that although the number came out of nowhere, it is one she likes very much. It is also worth mentioning that Masako Nozawa authorized the use of her voice through artificial intelligence, ensuring that Goku can keep his voice forever.
