Man Arrested in Osaka for Stealing a Woman’s Sock

A man in Osaka was arrested for stealing a woman’s sock and assaulting another on the street. The case involves two separate incidents that took place in August and quickly caught the attention of Japanese media.

According to police reports, the suspect is Kurimoto Koki, a 23-year-old unemployed resident of Sennan, Osaka. He was arrested again after authorities discovered his involvement in a second crime.

On August 15, around 8:25 p.m., the suspect allegedly attacked a woman in her twenties at a park in Osaka Prefecture. According to the victim’s statement, she was knocked to the ground, and the aggressor forcibly removed one of her socks before fleeing. The woman sustained injuries that required 14 days to heal.

Following her emergency call, police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation. The man confessed to following the woman, grabbing her ankles from behind, knocking her down, and stealing her sock

Another Violent Attack Before the Sock Theft

This was not the suspect’s first offense. On July 21, the same man had already been arrested for abuse and assault. Police stated that he approached another woman walking alone at night, forcefully hugged her from behind, threw her to the ground, and smelled her neck, causing injuries in the process.

During interrogation, he admitted the crime and explained that his actions were solely driven by his own sexual urges.
