Japanese Fans React to the Wild American Novel Morning Glory Milking Farm

Writer Hiro Yamagata shared on his Twitter profile one of the wildest American interspecies romance novels ever written — Morning Glory Milking Farm, a book that’s become surprisingly popular among American women.
And the plot? It only gets crazier.
Violet is a broke millennial on the verge of moving back in with her parents when she accepts a very unconventional job at the “Morning Glory Milking Farm” in Cambric Creek. The pay is high, the benefits are good — but her clients are muscular minotaurs with… rather specific needs.
When one of these clients, with a deep and commanding voice, starts asking specifically for Violet, her life turns upside down. Keeping things professional becomes harder than she thought, and her plans to pay off her debts quickly are derailed by an unexpected — and possibly mutual — attraction to someone completely out of her league.

A YouTuber even made a video poking fun at the novel, explaining that Violet’s job involves milking minotaurs… yes, that kind of milking.
Japanese Fans Discover the Insane American Interspecies Romance Novels
Japanese fans are having a blast discovering what kind of stories Americans are writing — and the best part is, they’re all aimed at women!
Hiro Yamagata commented:
One of the most talked-about scenes is when Violet goes to a restaurant with one of her minotaur clients. The minotaur insists on paying, while Violet — determined to uphold her feminist ideals — tries to split the bill.
Still, while resisting and thinking “I shouldn’t…”, she ends up falling into the forbidden world where the man pays for everything. Maybe we’ll see a new genre called OGR, instead of NTR. “Oh, look, your wallet seems pretty happy about this, kuhihihi.”
And that’s not all — Japanese readers were also introduced to novels where women fall in love with dinosaurs!

Japanese Reactions
- “Just from the cover, you can tell this is insane.”
- “Americans really are leveling up their weirdness…”
- “I have no idea what’s happening anymore.”
- “If the minotaur produces milk, doesn’t that make him a mom?”
- “Women otaku sure have mysterious tastes.”
- “There are infinite examples like this in Japan — did we export this trend?”
- “If the roles were reversed, it’d definitely be controversial.”
- “The minotaur on the cover isn’t my type, but I can imagine him differently in my head. I want to read it.”
- “So it’s not a female minotaur being milked — it’s the male… wow.”
- “Search enough and you’ll probably find a Japanese doujin with this exact theme.”
- “I don’t understand anything, but I still want to read it.”
- “Even women are getting tired of modern feminism.”
- “I love interspecies romance. Of course I’m intrigued.”
- “Even if the genre sounds crazy abroad, we Japanese shouldn’t be worried.”
- “Lots of people thought the Beast from Beauty and the Beast should’ve stayed a beast… makes sense.”
One well-known artist, Asanagi, who has nearly one million followers and creates adult manga, commented simply:
“Sounds interesting.”
And that single comment was enough to make his followers beg him for a doujin based on it.

It just goes to show: no matter where you’re from, people are all a bit perverted.
