Gundam GQuuuuuuX Physical Edition Will Include a “Diskless Anime Package”
The physical edition of Gundam GQuuuuuuX is set to make history at Bandai Namco Filmworks with an unprecedented innovation. The new Gundam anime, which became a major hit in Japanese theaters and on TV, will receive three physical editions in 2026 — including the studio’s first ever “diskless anime package.”
Gundam GQuuuuuuX captivated Japanese audiences, grossing around 3.5 billion yen (approximately 23 million dollars) at the box office. Produced through a collaboration between Studio Khara and Bandai Namco Filmworks, the project stood out not only for its commercial success but also for its huge online engagement and positive fan reception.
Gundam GQuuuuuuX Physical Edition Will Include a “Diskless Anime Package”
According to Japan’s Otaku Soken, the Gundam GQuuuuuuX physical edition will be released in three volumes, each containing four episodes. The release dates are scheduled for January 28, February 25, and March 25, 2026.
Fans will have three options to choose from: a limited Blu-ray edition, a DVD version, and the innovative diskless anime edition — the biggest highlight of this release.
Bandai Namco Filmworks’ First “Diskless Anime Package”
The so-called “diskless anime package” is a new concept by Bandai Namco Filmworks. Instead of including a physical disc, it will come with a serial code that grants access to exclusive bonus content such as creditless openings and endings, as well as a limited-time Gundam GQuuuuuuX audio drama.
This code will remain valid for one year after the release date and offers a new way to enjoy bonus content without including the full anime in the package.
According to the official Gundam website, the diskless package will feature some of the same bonuses available in the Blu-ray edition, but it won’t include the anime episodes themselves. Therefore, those who want to watch the complete series will need to purchase the DVD or Blu-ray version — or stream it online… if that’s your thing.
