Crunchyroll Aumenta o Preço das Assinaturas

The Crunchyroll price increase in the US was officially announced this week, confirming higher costs for all subscription tiers on the platform. The adjustment affects the Fan, Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan plans and will apply to existing subscribers starting with their next billing cycle after March 4.

Under the new pricing structure, the Fan Tier now costs US$9.99 per month, up from US$7.99. The Mega Fan Tier increased from US$11.99 to US$13.99 per month, while the Ultimate Fan Tier rose from US$15.99 to US$17.99 per month. According to the company, the Crunchyroll price increase in the US reflects ongoing investments in content expansion and platform features.

One of the most notable changes is that the Fan Tier now allows users to download episodes for offline viewing on one device, a feature previously limited to higher tiers. The Fan plan continues to offer ad-free viewing and access to new simulcast episodes as they premiere in Japan.

For a limited time, Crunchyroll is also offering a discounted Fan Annual Plan priced at US$66.99 for one year. This option provides a lower effective monthly cost compared to paying month by month, though the company notes that the offer is available for a short period only.

The Mega Fan Tier continues to include all Fan features while adding offline viewing, access to up to four simultaneous streams and additional perks. Subscribers at this level also receive a 10% discount on select items from the Crunchyroll Store and free shipping on orders over US$50.

Meanwhile, the Ultimate Fan Tier offers the most extensive benefits. In addition to everything included in the lower tiers, it allows up to six simultaneous streams, provides a 15% store discount, free shipping and includes an annual Ultimate Fan swag bag along with access to exclusive merchandise.

This is not the first time Crunchyroll has adjusted its prices in recent years. In 2024, the company raised the Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan tiers, while the Fan Tier last saw a price increase in 2019. The company also ended free ad-supported streaming on December 31, fully shifting its focus to paid subscriptions.

Crunchyroll operates as a joint venture between Sony Pictures Entertainment in the United States and Aniplex in Japan, both subsidiaries of the Sony Group. Sony completed the acquisition of Crunchyroll from AT&T in August 2021 for US$1.175 billion, consolidating its position in the global anime streaming market.
