Apathy Psycho Fujoshi Steam Release Cancelled

The visual novel Apathy Psycho Fujoshi had its Steam release cancelled after the developers encountered problems that could not be resolved with simple adjustments. The announcement was made by the creator of the series, who explained that the situation ultimately prevented the game from arriving on Valve’s platform.

The cancellation of Apathy Psycho Fujoshi on Steam was revealed by the creator of the series, Japanese developer Takiya Ijima. According to him, the project faced obstacles that could not be solved with simple revisions to the game’s content.

Ijima commented that he had already expected that difficulties might arise during the approval process, and therefore said the decision ultimately became unavoidable. Although the exact reason was not publicly detailed, the creator himself indicated that there are elements in the game that would likely conflict with the platform’s policies.

Apathy Psycho Fujoshi is a new entry in the well-known horror visual novel series that also includes works connected to the classic School Horror Story. The story once again takes place at Narugami Academy and features a sound novel style narrative, where the player progresses by reading the story text.

Unlike many games in the genre, the title has a completely linear structure. There are no choices during the narrative and the story leads to a single ending. The script contains around 120,000 words and the game is fully voiced, something highlighted by the developers as one of the project’s main features.

Another point that drew attention is that Apathy Psycho Fujoshi was promoted as the first game in the series classified as adult content, making it an 18+ title. The sales pages also warn that the visual novel contains explicit themes that may make some players uncomfortable.

Despite the cancellation on Steam, Apathy Psycho Fujoshi was released in February 2026 in Japan for PC. The game is currently available only in Japanese through digital platforms such as BOOTH and DLsite.

At the moment, there has been no announcement regarding a new attempt to release the game on international platforms. As a result, players who want to play Apathy Psycho Fujoshi will need to use Japanese stores where the title remains available for purchase.
