Former AV Actress Anri Sakaguchi Arrested for Stealing only ONE Sandwich

Life really gives us many surprises. Take the case of former AV actress Anri Sakaguchi, for example. She was born in 1991 and entered the entertainment industry in 2008, where she landed a role in a film in 2014.

According to information released by Tokyo police, the incident took place on March 17 in the city of Hachioji. The 35-year-old former AV actress allegedly stole ONE sandwich valued at around 300 yen (about $2).

According to reports, a store employee noticed the act and quickly contacted the local police station, the Takao Police Station. After the report, officers went to the scene and made the arrest in the act.

Upon being detained, Sakaguchi admitted to the theft charges and remains in custody of Japanese authorities. Even though the item had low value, Japan has very strict laws regarding crimes like theft, which explains the immediate response from the police.

On the internet, reactions from Japanese users were confused—do you know why? Because at first, they thought the news had made a typo regarding the number of sandwiches she stole. But after confirming it was actually just ONE sandwich, everyone was quite shocked.

However, this is not the first time the former celebrity has had trouble with the law. In 2017, she was investigated in a case involving an ex-boyfriend, but the charges were eventually dropped. In 2018, another case related to trespassing was also dismissed by prosecutors.
