In January 2022, the anime Akebi’s Sailor Uniform premiered. At the time, it was simply a slice of life series about a girl named Akebi who was starting at a new school and would wear a cute sailor uniform.

It was also one of the best animated shows released by CloverWorks, with nearly every episode featuring scenes where Akebi was animated with incredible attention to detail. Up until then, most people only saw it as a calm everyday story about girls going to school.

The manga eventually turned into a yuri story, with Akebi and her school friend Erika gradually becoming closer. In the most recent Chapter 88 released this week, the two finally kissed.

I personally only watched the first season of the anime and never felt interested in reading the manga, but from what I could see, Japanese readers who follow Akebi’s Sailor Uniform are very happy that the two finally kissed.
