SubscribeStar Forced to Censor Categories Like Incest, Furry and Loli

A popular alternative to Patreon for artists who create adult content is SubscribeStar. It works similarly to Patreon and, until now, allowed adult content without blocking payments.
Well, not anymore. SubscribeStar has updated its guidelines and now prohibits creators on the platform from uploading content involving:

- Incest
- Gore
- Furry
- Rape
- Content with real people
- Loli (even in anime)
Another restriction is creating hentai of a famous character who is canonically underage. Even if your fanart portrays the character as older, it is still prohibited.
SubscribeStar also added a section blaming payment processors for these changes, stating:
“SubscribeStar operates in accordance with legal regulators, payment processors, and banks.” The change has angered many people, who are directing their complaints—often toward Visa, Mastercard, and banks.

One comment summarized the frustration many users feel:
“Why do these companies care about what ADULTS pay to see? Millionaires and bank owners can abuse children in real life, but God forbid you masturbate to some weird porn.”
Other people were surprised to see that even “furry” content is now being targeted, something that previously wasn’t happening. Some commenters argued that certain categories “really should” be banned because they are too extreme, which others strongly disagree with, saying that no category should be censored.
Overall, the general sentiment among users is anger directed at Visa, Mastercard, and banks.
