Tatsuya Endo explained that these SPY x FAMILY character sketches are part of the manga’s pre-production drafts, where he plans panel layouts and dialogue before moving on to the final, detailed artwork.

This process shared by Endo was rightfully praised by the community. New chapters continue to be released monthly, and the anime’s latest season aired last year, adapting, among others, the Red Circus arc.
