Akai Haato Announces a Break from Activities

VTuber Akai Haato, a first-generation member of hololive Japan, has announced a break from her activities to prioritize her mental health. The decision was made public by Cover Corp, the company behind the group, which stated that the choice was made after consulting with the artist and her family.

According to the official statement, the goal is to ensure that Akai Haato can properly recover, taking the necessary rest to preserve her physical and psychological well-being.

Reason for the Break and Recent Incident

On October 29, Akai Haato held a live broadcast that quickly generated widespread attention on social media. During the stream, the VTuber expressed strong emotions and made negative comments about the company and colleagues, which led to the immediate removal of the video.

According to Cover Corp, the stream was taken down after the team determined that the creator was in an unstable emotional state. The company also stated that it is removing any unauthorized recordings or illegal clips of that broadcast.

But what exactly did she say? According to posts on social media and Reddit, during the livestream, she became emotional and began to vent, claiming that she feels isolated within hololive and that others do not enjoy collaborating with her.

She also mentioned that hololive canceled several projects she wanted to pursue, such as vlogs (which is understandable, as the company aims to protect her identity). She further complained about her parents, saying they had wanted a son instead of a daughter, had once given her spoiled food, and that her father had asked her to promote his company during a stream.

Naturally, Cover Corp denies all of these claims.

Cover Corp published an official statement in both Japanese and English explaining the situation and asking fans to respect the artist’s privacy. The company emphasized that some of Akai Haato’s remarks were “taken out of context” and misused online, generating false rumors and accusations of “bullying” within hololive.

“We would like to inform you that Akai Haato will take a break from all activities to recover and prioritize her health, after consulting with her family.

We have observed that certain comments have been taken out of context and spread as rumors, affecting not only her but also other members of the agency. Such actions harm the reputation and mental well-being of our talents and cannot be tolerated,” the statement reads.

The company also stated that it will continue to take legal action against those spreading defamation, false rumors, or offensive behavior directed at Akai Haato and other members of the group.
