Play as an Editor Exploring a Story in Chronoscript

Shueisha Games has announced the game Chronoscript, which caught my attention for making an editor the protagonist! Chronoscript: The Endless End is an action-adventure exploration game, announced for PC via Steam and PS5, scheduled for release in 2026.
Play as an Editor Exploring a Story in Chronoscript
In Chronoscript: The Endless End, you take on the role of an editor who, after receiving a new assignment, ends up transported into a mysterious manuscript.

The year is 2026. With a long series now under his belt, an editor receives a new and intriguing job. He travels to a mansion in the mountains where the client awaits him, but faints the moment a mosquito draws his blood.
When he wakes up, he finds himself inside the pages of a story that writes itself beyond its own ending — a manuscript created by the mansion’s owner, a writer who has lived for a millennium.

Gameplay and Exploration
The game blends intense action with detailed exploration. In its 2D world, each page of the manuscript acts as a different area, with challenging enemies and bosses emerging from the past to block your path.
As the player progresses, new skills and moves are unlocked, allowing you to explore every corner of the manuscript and battle enemies strategically.
Additionally, the art style is entirely hand-drawn, with pen-and-ink illustrations bringing characters, enemies, and settings to life.
The game is developed by Desk Works but published by Shueisha Games — and that’s what I found fascinating, Shueisha releasing a game where the protagonist is an editor.
